Functional characteristics of EST-SSR markers available for Scots pine

چکیده

EST-derived simple sequence repeat markers (EST-SSRs) are important tools for studies on genetic diversity, phylogeny, evolution, comparative genomics, QTL analysis, and gene-based associations. We have searched the literature known EST-SSRs used Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) – one of world’s major forest species. Then, 91 102 suggested were manually aligned against reference genome Pinus taeda L. as well available genes P. sylvestris. For 83 EST-SSRs, location consensus putative functions associated identified through conservative domain analysis (CDD), functional homologs in terms Gene Ontology annotations, KEGG pathway analysis. Loblolly Pine Ssr Markers for Shortleaf Pine Genetics

—Simple sequence repeats (SSR) are highly informative DNA-based markers widely used in population genetic and linkage mapping studies. We have been developing PCR primer pairs for amplifying SSR markers for loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) using loblolly pine DNA and EST sequence data as starting materials. Fifty primer pairs known to reliably amplify polymorphic markers in loblolly pine were scr...

Development and Characterization of Polymorphic EST-SSR and Genomic SSR Markers for Tibetan Annual Wild Barley

Tibetan annual wild barley is rich in genetic variation. This study was aimed at the exploitation of new SSRs for the genetic diversity and phylogenetic analysis of wild barley by data mining. We developed 49 novel EST-SSRs and confirmed 20 genomic SSRs for 80 Tibetan annual wild barley and 16 cultivated barley accessions. A total of 213 alleles were generated from 69 loci with an average of 3....

Development of EST-SSR markers of Ipomoea nil

Although Japanese morning glory (Ipomoea nil (L.) Roth.) has been used intensively for genetic studies, DNA markers have not been developed in Ipomoea nil sufficient to cover all chromosomes. Therefore, we conducted microsatellite (simple sequence repeats, SSR) marker development in I. nil for future genetic studies. From 92,662 expressed sequence tag (EST) sequences, 514 unique microsatellite-...

Genetic Purity Assessment of Castor Hybrids Using Est-ssr Markers

Maintenance of genetic purity of a hybrid is essential to exploit its full potential. Genetic purity is generally assessed by conducting grow out test (GOT) where morphological and floral characters are analyzed, however results may be influenced by the environment. Further, it is expensive and time consuming. DNA based markers are rapid, reliable and cost effective for hybrid purity assessment...
